This post is just pictures of the pre-massage party food shopping. The pictures are so fantastic that I thought it would be a shame to not show you them. No recipes here just mouth watering veggies!! It’s for the foodies who go into a state of bliss at just the site of all the greens and – of nature that was made for us to consume, be happy, alive and full of love for ourselves and our home here on this planet.
You can buy garlic already peeled and ginger peeled and shredded at the markets here. A life saver when you have a lot of cooking to do….(and when you don’t :-)!
Choo – pickled pak choi – and the natural version underneath! Deliciously served as a side dish chopped up with many dishes here in Cambodia. I love it!! 🙂
Bottom right -the long thin light brown root veg are finger root. Different from ginger and galangal but coming form the same family. You’ll notice a similarity in the taste!
Finger root and saw leaf herb!
Above and below are pictures of ‘Kroeung’! Khmer pastes made from lemongrass, galangal & turmeric (top left). Bottom left is the same plus chilli. Top right is fresh chilli paste. All these pastes are a timesaver (although I have lots of time here:-) ) and available for use in Khmer dishes in all of the markets here. I just love them. I will do a post in the future on how to make them!! (promise for future posts number 1001….hahaha!! 🙂 )
The brown lime is still good and juicy. Just looks not so good because I don’t have a fridge. The skins hard but is good (usually) inside. The green one is a fresh one in comparison. The large green one is an orange. That’s what they look like here. Quite tasty-not so sweet as the European orange coloured orange.
Please leave comments as they are dearest to me and I love getting feedback on what you think of my still new blog (does a couple of months old still count as new??)
Thank you for dropping by and have a wonderful day!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
